Pistol Division

Welcome to the Precision Pistol Shooting at the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club! Since 1937 we have been shooting Precision/Bullseye matches. Our range is one of the best in the nation. We have 40 firing points with turning targets at the 25 yard line. Many national records have been shot here. Several of our members are National Champions.

Bullseye Pistol

The NRA Precision pistol (also known as NRA Conventional or Bullseye) shooting is done at 50 and 25 yards. The “2700” match is in 3 parts, .22lr, any centerfire and specifically a .45 caliber. Each match is 90 rounds: 30 slow fire (strings of 10 rounds fired in 10 minutes per string), 30 timed fire (strings of 5 rounds fired in 20 seconds per string) and 30 rapid fire (strings 5 rounds fired in 10 seconds per string). You may shoot open sights or with a non-magnifying red dot sight. We often shoot single 90 round matches as well. Check our calendar for upcoming matches.

International Pistol

International shooting is another discipline we shoot. This is Olympic style shooting. All are shot using open sight only. We shoot International Standard pistol (22lr caliber only) , International Centerfire (calibers .32 up to .38/9mm), Olympic Free Pistol (.22lr only) and we also shoot Air Pistol at our indoor range.

All of our matches are shot according to NRA rules. Our range is NRA affiliated and NRA certified. All safety rules are posted and are followed.
